S&P 500 daily direction

Here I looked at the day to day change – using Yahoo! historical data for the S&P 500 Index.  The graph shows a comparison of when the change was  (1) up one day, then down, then up (2) up one day, then down, then down, then up (3) up one day, then down, then down, then down.  And the reverse – down the first day, then various up days.  The Y axis is the number of times it happened in a year. As other blogs have shown, the recent years have more of a tendency to be choppy.  Clicking on the graph will show a larger image.
